Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: The Ha Giang Warm-Up: Countryside, Culture & Kayaks

The "Hidden Ha Giang" Experience

Most operators rush you straight to the mountain passes. We do it differently. Day 1 is about finding your rhythm, meeting your tribe, and experiencing the serene valleys that most travelers only see through a bus window.

The Vibe: Low-impact adventure. High-impact connection.

Morning: Valley Mist & Traditions

7:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Breakfast and Briefing

Start slow. Enjoy a traditional breakfast on our stone terrace as the mist lifts off the karsts. We’ll prep the bikes and gear while you soak in the silence.

9:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Two wheels - No Noise!

A gentle bicycle journey through the lush Ha Giang countryside. No engines yet—just the sound of the wind through rice fields.

  • The Secret Stream: Stop for a dip at a local swimming hole. Test your nerves on the rope swings.

  • Rice Field Fishing: Get your hands dirty. We’ll head into the flooded paddies to learn the ancient art of bamboo basket fishing. (Warning: It’s harder than it looks).

Afternoon: Heritage Lunch & River Adventures

12:30 PM: Family Style Feast

Return to the Stone House for a massive communal lunch featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients—including your morning catch.

A family-style dining experience typical of Northern Vietnamese hospitality.

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Kayaking and Village Treks

Ditch the dust for a paddle in the meantime, board your kayaks, and navigate the calm waters surrounding the city. It’s the most calming 360-degree mountain view you just don’t get from the road.

  • Village Trails: These trails offer a glimpse into the region’s living history, where daily life remains rooted in tradition and untouched by the hustle of the main loop.

Evening: Sunset, Pool & The Social

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Sunset Session

This is the "Party Moderately" flex. Head to our Poolside Bar (the first of its kind in the region) for chilled drinks and golden hour views.

  • Grab your chilled drinks and snacks then dip in the pool. Served at the best vantage point to watch the valley transition into evening. It's the perfect window for golden-hour photography and winding down after the day's physical activities.

7:30 PM: The Tribe Dinner

A legendary family-style spread at basecamp. Enjoy some good company, find your riding partner, and fuel up.

  • Experience: A time to swap stories from the day's adventures and prepare for the mountain passes ahead on Day 2.

Late Night | Games... Games... Games: Keep the energy high with group games and social challenges. We like to play, but we sleep well too, because the mountain ranges start tomorrow.

Why this day is a MUST:

Acclimatize: Get used to the altitude and the heat before the 1,000 hairpin turns begin.

The Pool/Bar Combo: No one else has it. Relax at our Heritage Hideaway while the others are stuck in noisy city hostels.

The Tribe Factor: You’ll actually know everyone’s name before you hit the road on Day 2.

Pro-Tip: We built this day because we noticed travelers were arriving in Ha Giang tired and stressed. Our Full Countryside Day ensures you start the loop with a clear head, a full stomach, and a new group of friends. Remember: Loop More starts with a better start.

Day 2

Day 2: The Ascent to the Karst Plateau

From Valleys to the Hmong Kings

Today, the "Party Moderately" strategy pays off. While the other groups are struggling with the first climb, our tribe is fueled, focused, and ready for the most iconic passes in Southeast Asia. We leave the valley behind and enter the UNESCO Global Geopark.

The Vibe: High-altitude adrenaline. A Masterclass in culture.
Basecamp: Loop Eco Stone House Dong Van (Tucked away in the rice paddies).

Morning: The Gateway to the Clouds

  • 08:00 | The Launch: Final check-out from our Ha Giang basecamp. Fuel up with a hearty breakfast, meet your expert guides, and have the morning "Tribe Chat."

  • The Climb:

    • Bac Sum Pass: Your first taste of the hairpins. We stop at the top to look back at the valley you just conquered.

    • Heaven’s Gate: The highest peak of the morning. This is the official entrance to the Dong Van Karst Plateau.

    • Can Ty Pass: A winding descent through lush landscapes and hidden ethnic hamlets.

  • Cultural Masterclass:

    • Lung Tam Village: This isn't just a photo op. We visit a traditional brocade weaving workshop. Learn how the H’mong people turn hemp into art. Great if you need to buy some traditional gifts for your own tribe back home.

Afternoon: History & High Passes

  • 12:30 | Yen Minh Pitstop: A well-earned local lunch in Yen Minh Town to recharge for the afternoon's "Big Three" passes.

  • The Icons:

    • Chin Khoanh Pass: Winding roads that look like a staircase to the sky.

    • Tham Ma Pass: The most photographed road in Vietnam. Because we "Loop More" we time this stop to avoid the massive bus crowds.

    • H’mong King’s Palace: Step back in time. Explore the historic fortress of the Vuong family and learn the "Opium King" history that shaped this borderland.

Evening: Rice Paddies & Sunset Social

  • 17:00 | Check-in & Chill: Arrive at Loop Eco Stone House Dong Van. Located in the quiet rice paddies below the town, it’s a Heritage Hide that feels worlds away from the noisy hostels in the center.

  • Sunset Party: Gather on the terrace as the karst peaks turn purple. Chilled drinks, fresh mountain air, and 10/10 photography lighting.

  • 19:00 | The Stone House Feast: A massive family dinner featuring regional Dong Van specialties. Share your photos, swap stories of the day's hairpins, and a toast to the road.

Why this Day 2 is "Loop Tours" Standard:

  • Ownership Advantage: We aren't just dropping guests at random hostels. We are bringing you to our very own property, ensuring the same high quality and vibe experienced in Ha Giang.

  • Strategic Timing: By starting fresh from Loop Eco Stone House Ha Giang, you hit the major passes (Tham Ma) when the light is best and the crowds are thinning.

Pro-Tip: We rest early tonight. Tomorrow we tackle the Ma Pi Leng Pass - the "King" of the loop. You’ll want your eyes wide open for this one.

Day 3

Day 3: The King of Passes, Deep Canyons & The River/Road Less Traveled

The Split: Leaving the Crowds Behind

While the 3-day group begins their journey back to the city, our 4-day explorers dive deeper. This afternoon is about total immersion in the rugged terrain of Nho Que Ba River and the high-altitude silence of the border villages.

The Vibe: Remote exploration. True isolation.
Basecamp: Pristine Outpost in Yen Minh (Away from the main town noise).

Morning: Walking the Clouds

  • 07:00 | Fuel & First Light: Breakfast at our Dong Van basecamp. We hit the road early to beat the fog and the tour buses.

  • The Icons: Dawn’s Diamond Cave A hidden geological marvel. We explore the cool interior of this remote cave before the day heats up.

  • Ma Pi Leng Skywalk This is the one. We’ll ditch the bikes to walk the "Skywalk" trail - a path carved into the side of the cliff that offers a 1,500m vertical view down to the Nho Que River.

Afternoon: Lunch & Descent into the Emerald Waters

  • 11:30 | Meo Vac Farewell Lunch: Enjoy a final lunch with the full tribe before the 3-day group departs. The 4 Days Ha Giang and the Combo Ha Giang - Cao Bang crew will cruise together farther deep into the villages and canyon before making another split.

  • The Deep Loop:

    • Nho Que 3: 01:30 PM | Bikes on Boats (Nho Que 3): We don’t just look at the river from above; we put the motorbikes on local boats and sail through the heart of the gorge.
While the bikes are in tow, we stop in the deepest section of the canyon for a swim. Looking up at the Tu San cliffs from the water level is a perspective few people ever get.

    • Lung Phin: A high-altitude pass known for its dramatic limestone forests and some of the most authentic ethnic markets in the region.

    • Diem Quy Ma: One of the most secluded stretches of road on the entire loop. No tour buses, no noise - just pure riding through the karst wilderness.

  • 17:30 | Arrive in Yen Minh: We avoid the crowded town center and head to our Pristine Outpost - homestay situated in a quiet valley where you can actually hear the mountains breathe.

  • 19:00 | The Deep Loop Dinner: A quieter, more intimate family-style meal. Toast to being part of the few who went further.

Day 4

Day 4: The Pine Forests & Hidden Valleys

The Final Descent through Thai An

Our final day isn't just a "ride back" - it's a discovery of the southern loop. We trade the jagged peaks for towering pine forests and the majestic valleys of Thai An.

The Vibe: Scenic serenity. The long way home.
Route: Yen Minh → Thai An → Ha Giang City.

Morning: Into the Green

  • 09:00 | Pine-Scented Starts: A relaxed breakfast at our Yen Minh outpost. We kick off the morning riding through Doi Thong (The Pine Forest). With the crisp air and straight trees, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the Swiss Alps.

  • Viewpoint Stops: We’ll pull over at several "secret" ledges overlooking the Yen Minh valley - places where the silence is as deep as the view.

  • 11:30 | The Famous Final Lunch: We stop at Trang Kim for our final group meal. Known for having the most authentic handmade noodles in the region, it’s the perfect fuel-up before our final mountain pass.

Afternoon: The Grand Finale

  • Thai An Pass: We enter one of the loop's "Best Kept Secrets." The Thai An Pass is a masterclass in winding roads, offering panoramic views of massive valleys and terraced fields that 90% of backpackers never see.

  • Silver Silk Falls: Our final hidden gem is a towering waterfall. We stop here for a definitive group photo at the last high-altitude ledge before the landscape begins to soften back into the Ha Giang plains.

  • 15:00 | Return to Basecamp: Arrive back at Loop Eco Stone House Ha Giang.

    • The Wrap-Up: Refresh, grab a final drink at the poolside bar, and say goodbye to your guides. You’ve conquered the Biggest Loop in the North.

🚀 Why the 4-Day "Biggest & Most Affordable" Tour is King:

  • Unrivaled Value: You get the kayaking, the pool party, the Skywalk, AND a boat trip with bikes past the villages of Nho Que 3 for a price that beats the "rushed" tours.

  • Crowd Avoidance: By staying in Yen Minh and riding through Thai An on Day 4, you avoid the heavy traffic of the main highway.

  • The "Deep Loop" Flex: You see the parts of the map that 90% of backpackers never touch.

Pro-Tip: Keep your camera out for Thai An. The valley floor is often covered in a low mist that makes for the most cinematic drone shots of the entire 4 days. Loop More until the very last mile. 🏍️📸
